“Under
the Mahinda Chinthana National programme the objectives of
the cabinet is to provide needs of the people to their door
steps.”
This was said by
the Minister of Housing and Common Amenities Mrs Ferial
Ashraff at the ceremony held after inaugurating a divisional
office at Puttalam city to provide efficient services of the
National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) to the people.
Further
addressing the meeting she said that Deputy Minister of
Livelihood Development Mr. K.A. Baiz has expressed his
amazement for implementing a divisional office. According
to the Mahinda Chinthana of His Excellency President Mahinda
Rajapakse needs of the people should be provided as quickly
as possible. The objective of opening a divisional office
is to implement the same objective in an efficient manner.
During these days we are spending the funds for the
development of the East. Although government is involved
in a war the President has paid special attention to develop
the country parallel to the war. Therefore we have opened
this office even with lack of funds and it is your
responsibility is to get the maximum use of this office
Minister of
Nation Building and Estate Infrastructure, Mr.D.M.Dasanayaka
said that he felt so grateful for establishing a divisional
office for Puttalam people to provide housing and common
amenities. It will help to strengthen the economy of the
people. The people should try their best to get the maximum
use of these buildings. Minister also stressed the
importance of the contribution of the political leadership
on this attempt
Livelihood
Development Deputy Minister K.A. Baiz noted that the
importance of giving a divisional office to solve housing
problems of the Puttalam people. Specially during the past
few months people from Wanathwilluwa, Karuwalagaswewa,
Kalpitiya have to approach even to Anamaduwa to obtain
services due to lack of a divisional office. Now the office
will provide immediate solutions to their problems.
