PROGRAMME AND PROJECT CONDUCTED BY LAND DIVISION OF NHDA

The demand for land plots for house construction homeless families is growing in increasing trend .in considering this fact, NHDA has implemented a programme to provide land plots with clear title for house construction enabling them to get financial assistance from the lending institutions as well.

This programme has implemented under the following sub-programmes:

SITE AND SERVICES PROGRAMME

Under this programme, NHDA is providing housing plots with the services including infrastructures such as Roads, Water Facilities, Electricity etc.
The NHDA has already initiated action to implement one project in each district, where the lands are available in year 2003. Some of the projects are Divulapitiya Wewegodella, Gampaha Ranpokunagama & Homagama Kahatuduwa.

Sale of scattered vacant housing plots available in housing project

There are vacant land plots available in old NHDA housing projects such as Model Villages, Aided Self Help Housing Schemes, etc. These land plots are sold for house construction under this programme.

Implementing housing project with the private sector participation by providing land for private developers.

Under this programme ,NHDA is providing housing plots with the basic services including infrastructure such as roads ,water, electricity etc

SALE OF VACANT LAND PLOTS AVAILABLE IN NHDA

There are vacant land plots available in old housing projects implemented by NHDA such as Model Villages, Aided Self Help Housing Schemes, etc. These land plots are sold for housing construction under this programme.

PRIVATE SECTOR PARTICIPATORY HOUSING PROGRAMME

This programme has been designed in keeping with the policy of the Government to activate the private sector to invest on hosing and infrastructure development with the Government taking the role of the facilitator. The NHDA is offering opportunities to genuine developers/investors to participate in housing development by providing lands specially in urban and sub-urban centers.

During the period of January 2002 to end of September ,2003, 700 lands plots have been sold for house construction under the site and services programme and the sale of vacant land plots programme and 1348 land plots are ready t provide for house construction

Under the Private Sector Participatory Housing Programme the NHDA has Already Indemnified 13 lands in extent 100 Acres to Develop under this programme
