National
Housing Development Authority (NHDA), Batticaloa district
new building complex has officially assumed their duties
recently. German Technical Co-operation (GTZ) has spent Rs.
06 million to construct the new building complex. Within
the last 03 years, the NHDA Batticaloa District Offices has
given financial and technical assistance to more than 20,000
families to build their houses and they have spent Rs. 150
million for this programme and most of these families who
constructed the houses were Tsunami and war affected
families.
Batticaloa Assistant District Secretary Mr. M. Basudevan,
Batticaloa – Manmunai North Divisional Secretary Mr. K.
Padmaraja, Batticaloa District Engineer of GTZ Mr. M.
Wasantharajah and NHDA Batticaloa District Manager Mr. K.
Jeganathan participated in this event with the General
Manager Mr. L.S.Palansuriya and Assistant General Manager
Mr. Dammika Gunawardena of NHDA.
