FACILITIES
FOR DISABLE PERSONS IN CONDOMONIUM FLATS
Minister
of Housing & Common Amenities, Mrs. Ferial
Ashraff has instructed National Housing Development
Authority (NHDA) to pay special attention to provide necessary
facilities for disable persons when designing housing schemes
and other building in future.
The Chairman of the
NHDA, Mr. Mohamed Rafeek said that facilities would be made for
disable persons to access and utilizes flats and other houses to
be built under the ‘Janasevana’ housing programme of ‘Mahinda
Chinthana’ national policy.
Further he said all
facilities required by disable persons will be provided in the
vicinity of flats and other buildings already have built and
this programme will be implemented from the World Disable Day
which falls on 03rd December 2008.
The task of building
flats in urban areas as well as houses in rural areas where
majority of people of the country live and for workers in
plantation sector is being done by NHDA and hopes to provide
facilities needed for disable persons in construction of houses
in all sectors during the year 2009.
