Janasewana awards house to midwife

Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa will donate a new house to midwife P. D. Lalitha Padmini who has been presented an award under the Janasewana dedicated housing programme.

The minister handed over the cheque worth Rs.1.5 million to Lalitha Padmini at the ministry.

The construction of the house will be inspected by the National Housing Development Authority which will provide technical knowledge related to the construction, free of charge. Lalitha Padmini received a Special Recognition Award for her dedicated service at the Second Global Forum on Human Resources for Health held in Bangkok, Thailand. At present she lives in a small house in Aralaganvila, Polonnaruwa.

Minister Weerawansa decided to give her a home in recognition of her service.
