Those who live in estate settlemnts, buit several decades ago are facing various social and health problems due to the maintenance and bad management of common facilities. Delapidated toilets thatcannot be used,bathing places,drainage systems have become common in these settlements, Under the first step of "Nagamu Purawara"Programme, commenced with the participation of Hon.President 60 projects were completed and 2097 families have been benefited.Work of another 102 projects have been commenced as the second stage and 7546 families are being benefited through it. Rs. 35Mn. from the Treasury has been released to the Ministry of Construction, engineering services, Housing & Common amenities for this. It is Planned to get the contribution of all the institutions under the Ministry for this stage.
